Chukker Road Sports complex will be hosting the senior and junior National Baseball Championships from 26-29 March (seniors) and 30 March to 2 April (juniors) respectively. Chukker Road Sports Complex is based in the southern suburbs of Cape Town and is bordered by the M5 freeway, Wetton road, Chukker Road and Racecourse road.
Chukker Road is the home to three baseball clubs, namely Battswood, Lansdowne Eagles and VOB Macaws. The venue has 4 dedicated baseball diamonds with two temporary diamonds added for the 12U section.
The tournament venue will have a dedicated area for vendors where spectators and players should be able to get food, equipment and more.
The facilities manager for the tournament will be Kevin Johnson and he will be assisted by one person from each club in order to make sure that all field matters/issues are easily managed. The Chukker Road tournament facilities manager falls under the jurisdiction of SABU for the duration of the tournament so all issues relating to the facility will be routed through SABU at the Nerve centre.
The Kenilworth Centre shopping mall is a mere 5 minute drive away (other side of the M5 freeway) for those who like shopping.
